Our Board of Directors provides governance, oversight, and strategic guidance in support of the sanctuary’s mission.
Jeff Kirstein— President
Jeff lives and works with the animals at the sanctuary. His background in non-profit management and construction guide the organization.
Lisa Richards—Vice President
Lisa is a native Californian now living in Minnesota. She has had a long career in mission-driven broadcast television production. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and being with her family and beloved dog, Poppy. She has always believed in supporting people and organizations dedicated to improving the lives and well-being of animals.
Tom Parker—Treasurer
Tom is the CFO and EOS Visionary at Limestone, Inc. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Since joining the firm in 2012, Tom has leveraged over 22 years of experience as a business owner and manager to help small businesses succeed. Beyond his corporate work, Tom is a dedicated community leader, serving as the Treasurer for Lost & Found for the past 10 years. He has developed a passion for helping local non-profits navigate complex financial concepts. Tom joined the Sanctuary Board in 2023 as Treasurer.
Natalie Kaufman Stamp—Secretary
Natalie is a South Dakota farm kid who understands animal husbandry and the importance of making farm experiences accessible. She is a longtime friend of the Good Earth Farm and Farm Animal Sanctuary. In real life she is a federal probation officer but dreams of retirement when she can spend time with the sanctuary animals.
Tim Losch-Board Member
Tim’s experience in serving on non-profit boards began over 30 years ago. He also has 25+ years’ experience as a non-profit executive and is now an association and non-profit consultant. Tim serves the Good Earth Animal Sanctuary Board by providing insightful leadership in effective board engagement, governance, and strategic planning for organizational impact.
Beth Meyer-Board Member
Beth brings over a decade of nonprofit leadership to the board, having founded an organization that provides adaptive bikes to children with special needs. With a background in hospitality and customer service, she has a servant's heart and deep commitment to community-focused initiatives. A dedicated volunteer who plans and executes community events, Beth has been inspired by witnessing the sanctuary's growth and evolution into a meaningful center for farming, education, and compassionate animal care.
Nancy Kirstein—Executive Director
Nancy is the Executive Director of the Sanctuary. Even before the sanctuary was officially established, she has overseen and managed the day-to-day care and well-being of the animals and farm since 2011. Nancy also manages The Good Earth Farm’s activities and events, including community pizza nights, and coordinates volunteer opportunities and community engagement at both The Good Earth Farm and the Animal Sanctuary. In addition to her work at the sanctuary, Nancy serves as a board member for Southeast South Dakota Tourism.
The Good Earth Farm Sanctuary – Awards and Recognition
In 2024, Nancy and Jeff were named Farm Family of the Year by the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce. The award honors farm families who embody South Dakota’s agricultural heritage through their commitment to farming, strong family values, and meaningful contributions to the local community and regional economy.
