Meet Our Animals

T-Bone

Meet T-Bone, a cow like no other. While some might call him a bull, we call him a melon loving troublemaker with a heart of gold.

Weird Harold

What else needs to be said? Weird Harold, believe it or not, was once the smaller pig and faced the intimidation of his brother Charlie. Now Harold carries the sibling duo with his strange charm and midday splash in the mud pit.

Charlie

Charlie, though his name doesn’t suggest it, is also weird. These brothers are maybe the biggest pigs you’ll ever see-- weighing in at over 2000 pounds. That being said, Charlie still enjoys his sunset walks through the pasture with his fellow farm animal friends.

Miles

A beloved member of the TGE farmily, Miles is on a perpetual diet — or at least he claims to be. Equal parts sassy and slow-moving, he enjoys rooting around for fresh snacks. With his laid-back attitude and big personality, Miles has firmly made himself at home on the farm.

Fezzik

Fezzik came to the farm as a little calf with a curved back and an uncertain future - but not anymore!

Now settled in and thriving, Fezzik has grown into his own. A little awkward and completely endearing, his gentle nature and unique way of moving are exactly what make him so lovable — and we’re grateful to everyone who helped him find his way here.

Kevin Bacon Pigglesworth

You wouldn’t know it by looking at him, but Kevin is an incredible athlete. He jumped from a moving truck to find his way to freedom at 3 weeks old. Kevin arrived wrapped in a blanket with only his little snout peeking out. His little body was covered in road rash. He healed quickly and made friends with all of the animals in the little red barn.

The Goats

The goats keep life on the farm lively. Full of energy and curiosity, they love to climb on just about anything they can find and are always up to a little harmless mischief. Equal parts naughty and charming, they keep us laughing — and definitely keep us busy.

Felix

Felix means “lucky” in latin, though Felix doesn’t seem to need luck to thrive on the farm. While he’s a love bug who vocalizes his desire for affection to any passers-by with hands for petting, he can also be seen prowling the fields for rodents and carrying dead birds in his mouth. He is a mainstay character of the farm and likely to make himself seen and felt by many farm visitors.

Pepita

Pepita is the heart and unofficial manager of the farm. A true farm dog, she loves traveling with Nancy and Jeff but is just as happy at home keeping the animals in line, swimming in the creek, greeting guests at Pizza Night, and finding the perfect shady spot to relax. Confident, loyal, and always on duty, Pepita makes sure life on the farm runs smoothly.

Rex

Not to be overlooked, Rex is T-Bone’s certified bestie. At least 15 years old and still full of spunk, he can often be found standing proudly in the pasture with his golden mane blowing in the breeze — a look some have likened to Bon Jovi. Keep an eye out for Rex’s signature run (it’s a crowd favorite), and if you’re carrying carrots, you’ll have his full attention in no time.

The Little Women

The Little Women are in fact big, noisy, ferocious, and ruthless. They are a powerful gang of sisters (Louisa May Alcott, anyone?) who are trying their best in the world. In this world, they are trying their best to scare everyone away from the farm, which isn’t entirely desired by Nancy and Jeff. So, when you see them, know that they’re more squawk than snap, and they’re just fulfilling their life-purpose of protecting their land.

Rita

Rita is full of personality and always ready to have a little fun. She loves attention, adores carrots, and gets especially excited when you remind her that she once starred in a Super Bowl commercial — a claim she never questions and fully believes. Curious, spirited, and endlessly charming, Rita brings energy and smiles wherever she goes.

Bert

Bert has become famous on the farm for successfully hatching secret baby chicks and protecting them through the brutal SD winter. She’s a powerhouse hen, a heck-of-a momma. When you see Bert, give her some oos and aas and don’t get too close to her babies!

Animals We’ve Loved

Buck

If you knew Buck, he was one of (for Sydney and Pepita’s sake) the best dogs. He was gentle, fierce, loyal, obedient, and loved his belly rubs. He took care of many newly arrived baby animals by protecting them from harm and potty training them in an intuitive way. He seems to have cared as deeply about the farm and its inhabitants as Nancy and Jeff do themselves, and he was a great friend to Nancy for the many long, solitary days of farming. He will forever be a part of The Good Earth Farmily.

Jacques II

What a funny guy- named after Jacques the first, a sassy silky rooster with an unforgettable singing voice.

Sydney

Sydney held the status of a true house inhabitant. She adored her morning walks with Nancy and happily spent her hours sleeping upstairs or barking at the wind. Fiercely loyal and endlessly devoted, those who saw her whine during a storm understood just how tender she was and how deeply she loved.

Bubbles

Bubbles was our leading goat lady. Don’t let her demure nature fool you — she wasn’t above a well-timed headbutt if it meant getting to the food first. Confident, clever, and full of quiet determination, Bubbles left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Princess Buttercup

Jeff will say that there was something magic about PB. Her playfulness, intuition, and compassion endeared her to all the inhabitants and visitors of the farm-- there are many videos of her racing around the farm and trying to get Nancy’s attention from the garden. We were lucky to share the rest of her life with her at The Good Earth Farm, her final resting place.

Pearl (Frequent Visitor to The Farm)

Pearl was a beloved wild deer who often roamed through the farm, stopping by to quietly observe and occasionally visit with Nancy, Jeff, and anyone willing to share a carrot or a favorite deer treat. Calm, gentle, and regal, she moved through the land with an easy grace, bringing moments of joy and a watchful presence whenever she appeared. Though she was never part of the farm itself, Pearl’s visits felt special — a reminder of the beauty of wildlife and the peaceful connection between the land and those who care for it.
